Just outside the main gate we visit two nuns who live in a cave. They invite us in; it's nicely fitted out, quite cosy and with a small garden. They've lived there for 6 years and share it with a black and white rabbit.

We spend a last couple of hours on the Barkhor in light rain admiring the cowboy hats and trilbies and spending an enchanting few minutes with a Tibetan woman half-heartedly selling fake amber jewellery. When I joke that the jewellery'’s too good for Bev, she leads her off to find a better man.
